I am delighted to share the first newsletter of the Horizon Campaign. Our goal is to raise $15 million for a Research Innovation Fund to establish a Centre for Burns Research Innovation and Translation, with Professor Fiona Wood AO as the inaugural Chair.

Burn research needs significant investment from bench to bedside. Yet breakthroughs too often stall when researchers must pause their vital work to apply for grants.

Every gap in funding delays discoveries—delays that burn survivors and their families cannot afford. The Research Innovation Fund will transform burn treatment and care globally and has the potential to end the suffering caused by burn injuries.

We are pleased to announce that Shaw and Partners has been appointed as the fund manager. Together, we are building a strong investment policy to ensure every donor’s gift works harder—maximising returns and accelerating breakthroughs in medical research and burn care, now and into the future. The Horizon Campaign has already received early philanthropic gifts, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead.
